Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1.5 lb lean ground sirloin or turkey
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Diced Peppers and Onions Kit*
  • 14 oz The Fresh Market Anything Goes Sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) The Fresh Market Organic Corn
  • 1 can (15 oz) The Fresh Market Organic Green Beans
  • 4 soft golden hamburger buns
  • 3 tbsp butter, divided

Diced Peppers and Onions Kit:

  • 5 oz Diced Yellow Onions
  • 5 oz Diced Green Bell Pepper

Directions

In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high. Add the ground meat, season with salt and pepper and cook until cooked through and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Add the Diced Peppers and Onions Kit and cook another 5-7 minutes until veggies are tender and meat is brown. Using a spoon, drain off any excess fat and return to heat.

Add Anything Goes Sauce and ½ cup water. Stir to combine and simmer for 10 minutes until desired thickness is reached, adding more water for a thinner consistency.

While meat sauce is cooking, butter the hamburger buns and toast in a pan or under a broiler until golden brown. Drain the corn and green beans, place them in a microwave safe container, add a tablespoon of butter and season with salt and pepper. Cover and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes until warmed through and butter is melted. Stir well before serving.

To serve: Spoon the meat sauce over the bottom of each bun and add the top buns. Serve with corn and green beans on the side.

  • For a more traditional sloppy Joe flavor, add up to 1/3 cup of ketchup and 2 tbsp brown sugar
